Ahead of today’s all-important preliminary final, Fever midcourter Verity Charles believes the side needs to play to its strengths to beat GIANT Netball.
It will be an interesting content between Fever and GIANTS with both sides winning one game apiece so far – including a thrilling play off for the minor premiership won by GIANTS.
Looking ahead to the game, Charles said her side simply needed to play its own way.
“It is fortunate that we have been there a few times now and experience [finals]. One new player, Sasha Glasgow, she is handling it like a champ,” she said.
“We play our Fever way, keep stamping authority and pushing through. We have a big game this weekend, we’ll focus on that, get the work done, and not look too far ahead – that’s what we’re about.
“Finals is do or die anything can happen as we know.”
Charles was a standout performer in the Fever’s elimination final win over Lightning with 50 feeds into the circle.
While it is no secret, Charles said the side would continue to play to its strengths and get the ball into shooter Jhaniele Fowler.
“She’s a nice target to have, J does her thing and I have to keep giving her the ball,” she said.
“That’s our strength and we have to play to it.”
