With the Suncorp Super Netball powers-that-be giving an early Christmas present to fans, who can start locking in and planning their schedules with the full fixture of the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball Season now released, many are wondering how Foxtel and Kayo will usher in a new era for the sport.

There is plenty to get excited about with new game time slots on Saturdays that ensure community netballers have more access to the elite code, mid-week matches and an entire netball programming schedule that is set to include an hour-long programme hosted by Fox Sports journalist Hannah Hollis.

Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan said in a press conference that promotion and marketing was key to season 2022.

“We believe we’ve got the best league in the world. We have the best players in the world,” she said.

“We know where we stand, we are confident about how that stacks up.

“We think Fox is doing a fabulous job already, in terms of teasing of what’s to come around netball and the small snippet is starting to show…. the pro-activeness of where they’re prepared to take the profile and put it behind netball.

“There is still a lot of work to do and there is a lot of work to come. We are  working very closely with Fox at this particular point on the overall brand positioning of what netball looks like going into 2022.

“You’ll see a lot more coming really quickly around that evolution of not only what it means to the netball brand, but how that is going to translate into everything that we do, in particular in this instance, into SSN. There is certainly lots more to come.”

In a new era, Netball Australia Executive and General Manager of Suncorp Super Netball, Events and Commercial, Adam Richardson said fans should be excited about what is in store.

“The fans should be generally excited about seeing the elite game and the way it deserves to be presented,” he said.

“We want to make sure that we are presenting fans a spectacular product. Not only they can rally around it but it attracts the best players from all around the world.

“If we can continue that journey in regard to presenting that product in the best possible way, we’re confident that more and more fans will rally behind it. We all know it’s one of those sports once you’ve seen live, everybody walks away and talks about the speed, the dynamic nature and the fast pace agility that these athletes present.”

Suncorp Super Netball begins on Saturday 26 March, 2022.
